Casandra D. Blassingame, Executive Director
Casandra has ten years of higher education administration and faculty experience and nearly twenty years of experience working with non-profit organizations. Casandra comes to HCSNV from the University of Maryland University College where she served as Assistant to the Dean in the Graduate School of Management and Technology and currently serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor for the School of Undergraduate Studies. She is formerly the Director of Continuing Education at Harris-Stowe State University, St. Louis, Missouri where she was responsible for total implementation of the Continuing Education Unit. She holds a BA in Computer Science from Talladega College, a MEd from the University of Missouri, and is pursuing a PhD in Adult Education from the University of Missouri as well. She has served as the editorial assistant for the Adult Learning journal, served as a consultant to St. Louis Public Schools, Harris-Stowe State University and small non-profit organizations, has facilitated workshops for local organizations and has presented at professional institutes, state, local and national conferences on various topics. She holds professional memberships in various educational professional associations. |
Thelma Brown, Housing Counselor & Family Advocate
Thelma is a Housing Counselor and Family Advocate for the long-term case management program at HCSNV. She brings over twenty-five years of corporate and nonprofit experience to her HCSNV position. Thelma's success with her program is due to her hands-on experience and her numerous course studies. Thelma is from Parque Lefevre, Panama and is fluent in Spanish. Thelma raised her three children here in Virginia. She loves to dance and read in her spare time. |
Brian Mosley, Housing Counselor & Family Advocate
Brian worked as a Field Test Coordinator at DB Consulting Group, Inc., for the past two years. As a Field Test Coordinator, Mr. Mosley was responsible for key activities related to the execution of Fair Housing Tests for a National Enforcement Initiative. He has also worked as a Housing Coordinator for the Whitman-Walker Clinic on a HUD funded program for over two years. Mr. Mosley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology/Interdisciplinary Studies from Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia. |
