| Meet the Board of Directors
|
|
Bill Thomas, Chairman of the Board
Bill is a certified public accountant and currently serves
as Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis at the National
4-H Council in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
He is also the Vice-President and Principal of a private
financial and management consulting firm and has over 17
years experience in both the for- and not-for-profit sectors,
serving in senior roles in the oil, transportation, education
and healthcare industries.
He is a graduate of Howard University and resides in Rockville,
Maryland.

Jill M. Landsman - Vice Chairman
Jill Landsman serves as the Communications & Media
Relations Director of the Northern Virginia Association
of Realtors® in Fairfax, where she has worked since
2006. Her department is in charge of NVARs Web sites,
online communications, housing data analysis, publications
and collateral print materials and media relations. Prior
to that, she served as the public relations manager and
Web site administrator for the Technology Student Association
in Reston, where she worked for six years.
Her tenure as AAAs Car & Travel magazine editor
spanned five years. In AAA Potomac in the Public and Government
Affairs Dept., she served as the manager of editorial services.
Landsman also served as a staff writer for a national home
medical equipment association, where she wrote testimony
on health care issues that was presented on Capitol Hill.
She worked in public relations and editorial capacities
for other Northern Virginia associations. Her first position
in Virginia was as a reporter and news editor for the Potomac
News in Woodbridge, where her work was nominated for Virginia
Press Association awards. Prior to moving to Virginia, Landsman
lived in New Jersey, where she was an English and journalism
teacher at Nutley High School for five years.
Landsman earned a bachelor of arts in English, speech,
drama and education. Her masters degree studies were
in English literature. She resides in Burke with her husband,
two children and pups.

Angela Sanders, Secretary
Angela is an Assistant Director of Academic Programs at
Georgetown University Center for Continuing and Professional
Education. She shares her educational and work experiences
with organizations such as the national Association of Former
Foster Care Children on vital topics of education, personal
and professional development. She was a key player in initiating
the Executive Development Institute (EDI) with Medstar Health
and the partnership with Blacks in Government. Ms. Sanders
holds a Master's degree from Georgetown University McDonough
School of Business, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
from State University of New York College at Buffalo and
a Senior Executive Leadership and Professional Manager Certificate
from Georgetown University.

Anna Smith, Community
Relations Director, Past Chair
Anna Smith joined Freddie Mac's Community Relations organization
in May of 2007 managing our philanthropic activities with
external organizations. Prior to 2007, Anna worked in our
Regional and Community Lending Sourcing Department creating
affinity relationships with various industry trade groups
and mortgage vendors.
Over her 22-year career at Freddie Mac, Anna built relationships
with multifamily, local official, credit union and housing
agency organizations to further housing policy issues. Early
in her career Anna held increasingly responsible position
in Freddie Mac's Legal Division.
Anna received a B.A. in Public Administration from George
Mason University receiving the John Godbold award given
to the graduate finishing at the top of the Public Administration
program.
In her spare time, Anna sits on the Board for the Housing
and Community Services of Northern Virginia, serves on the
St. Andrew Lutheran Youth Committee and volunteers in Freddie
Mac J.C. Nalle mentoring program.

Robert E. (Bob) Gaylord
Bob is the President and CEO of IDEA, a for-profit business-to-business
eCommerce solution provider for the electrical channel.
Prior to this, he was the CEO of Leader to Leader Institute,
a non-profit social sector leadership development organization
in New York, and was a leadership and strategic planning
and communications consultant.
Bob retired from the United States Army in January 2005
as a Brigadier General after a long and distinguished career
culminating in his assignment as the senior Public Affairs
Officer in the Army responsible for the public relations
and strategic communications efforts of the Army during
the Global War on Terrorism. He served in numerous command
and staff positions and extensively overseas, including
Vietnam, Operation Just Cause in Panama, and Operations
Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He also served in Army Recruiting
Command as the Deputy Commanding General responsible for
all recruiting east of the Mississippi, Europe and Puerto
Rico.
General Gaylord currently serves on several Boards. He
is married with two daughters and two granddaughters.

Tom Hans Jansen
Hans is a senior development coach and independent energy
efficiency consultant. Hans holds a Masters Degree in electric
power and systems control engineering. He worked over 30
years in 24 developing nations. He specialized in institution
building and developing the legal and corruption free financing
structures for comprehensive energy efficiency and environmental
protection programs.
The last 15 years he initiated, designed and co-managed
the implementation of the nation-wide energy efficiency
and renewable energy programs of Thailand and Vietnam, with
the local authorities, consultants, banks, industry, non-profit
organizations and many volunteers. At present, Hans is coaching
persons, non-profit organizations, small industry and government
agencies.
Hans serves on several boards of non-profit organizations
in the Washington DC area and in Holland. Mr. Jansen believes
in the need to protect the vulnerable parts of society,
he supports the approach of the HCSNV and its enthusiastic
staff. Hans hopes that he can assist the organization develop
into a stronger player in the North Virginia social development
arena.

Dirk P. Johnson
DIrk is currently a Data Quality Analyst at IDEA, a for-profit
business-to-business eCommerce solution provider for the
electrical channel. Prior to this, he was the Partner/Operations
Director of DomainDrivers LLC, an internet marketing consulting
firm.
Dirk was named the Loudoun County Enterpreneur of the Year
in 1993, based upon his founding of Scale Sports/Detail
Master, a manufacturer of hobby products sold at retail
outlets worldwide.
He looks forward to assisting the HCSNV with an focus toward
the online marketing role.

Brian Wilkerson, Past Chair
Mr. Wilkerson is a long-standing member of HCSNV's Board
of Directors, having served on the Board for over ten years.
He provides legal counsel to private clients as a general
practitioner.
He also served as Special Counsel for a video-teleconferencing
firm and as President of The Johnson Group. Mr. Wilkerson
has current admissions in the Florida Bar and the Virginia
Bar. He is married with two young children.

Traci Mundy Jenkins
Traci is the Director of the Office of Career Services
at American University, Washington College of Law. Prior
to joining WCL, Traci was the Managing Partner of a Washington,
DC area legal placement and consulting company where she
specialized in attorney recruitment and counseling, as well
as providing consulting services to law firms and corporate
legal departments.
She also served as the Director of Placement at a national
legal placement company. In addition to her legal recruiting
experience, Traci practiced law for seven years at Venable,
Baetjer and Howard, LLP where she developed an employment
and commercial litigation practice.
She is a graduate of the University of Virginia School
of Law, and she received a BA in Economics from Wellesley
College. Traci is a frequent speaker on legal recruiting
issues. She has been a member of the Board of Directors
for HCSNV for six years.
